Not all French sociology is of the blah blah tendency. Raymond Boudon must be one of the most distinguished that resisted. Le Monde's notice is short, but it also carries a slightly longer appreciation by Mathieu Laine. Le Figaro tells you a bit more about him with a slant along the lines you might expect.
